RAPTOR
Rapid Target Predictor
JANUS' Rapid Target Predictor (RAPTOR) provides the ability to rapidly generate synthetic signatures of targets that correspond to how they would appear in data collected in EO, IR and SAR sensor modalities. Employing industry standard accelerated ray tracing technology, RAPTOR's ability to rapidly generate target signatures that span the electromagnetic spectrum, beginning in the visible region and continuing through the infrared and into the microwave regions, enables the development of Multi-INT solutions that address operational target detection and recognition requirements. RAPTOR employs 3D CAD models and sensor parameters, coupled with illumination and thermal transfer models, to rapidly generate its synthetic target signatures. RAPTOR's capabilities make it possible to generate vast amounts of labeled high quality data containing specific targets of interest that are required to successfully train AI/ML models to perform target detection and recognition. This may be achieved by combining RAPTOR's predicted target signature output with background scenes for specific domains and conditions of interest from a range of sources. This approach has been successfully employed to mitigate issues with limited target data availability from real-world data sources, as is often the case in anti-access/area denial (A2/AD) regions.
