JANUS' Trenton Hare Receives National Guard Promotion

JANUS training instructor Trenton Hare recently added another title to his impressive resume: Sergeant First Class (E-7) in the Arkansas National Guard.

Trenton has served in the Guard for 14 years and is currently attached to Bravo Company, Infantry Brigade Bridge Support Battalion (BSB) as a 91D Tactical Power Generation Specialist. His promotion, effective April 12, 2026, elevates him to senior leadership (NCO) status. As a Tactical Power Generation Specialist, Trenton was responsible for maintaining and repairing generators and power-generation equipment. His new role reflects his desire to act upon the leadership examples provided by mentors throughout his military career and to use the lessons he learned to mentor and guide his fellow soldiers.

Trenton’s role with the Guard perfectly complements his role at JANUS. “I primarily teach The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) course. In the course, I teach production controllers, maintenance control NCOs, and supply sergeants how to do their day-to-day jobs. Basically, I teach the role I hold in the National Guard.” Trenton’s subject-matter expertise and passion for his work both in the Guard and at JANUS are shining examples of why he was promoted.

Trenton joined the military with his best friend. “We climbed the ranks together,” he says. “We made a promise to each other years ago that however high one goes, the other goes. He made E-7 earlier last year, so I made it my mission to catch up to him, and I’m proud to say I did.” Having a friend who motivates you to improve yourself matters and proves that attaining great things, both personally and professionally, is possible when surrounded by those who see our potential and hold us accountable.

Through his work with the Guard, Trenton was able to provide aid for Texas after Hurricane Harvey hit. He cites it as the mission that meant the most to him in his 14 years of military service. During the mission, he delivered food and water to stranded people, recovered people trapped in flood zones, and assisted local law enforcement in patrols. “The joy I got to see in those people I got the privilege to help is something I will never forget,” he says. “It has been a constant reminder of why we do what we do as service members.”

Whether it’s in his role with the National Guard or his position at JANUS, Trenton exemplifies the JANUS ethos, reflecting who he is as a person and highlighting the drive, dedication, and expertise he brings to his professional roles.

Congratulations, Trenton, on your National Guard promotion!
