Spotlight: Vera Trail, Recipient of the JANUS Energy Award

02/27/2026

With our JANUS Energy Award, we have the opportunity to shine a light on someone who truly exemplifies the heartbeat of JANUS Research Group (JANUS). Our most recent winner is Vera Trail.

The Energy Award recognizes employees who go above and beyond their responsibilities. It recognizes those who actively seek ways to strengthen teamwork, support customers, and enhance our operations.

Vera Trail has demonstrated exceptional leadership, initiative, and technical expertise in support of the T-7A Maintenance Training System (MTS) and Training Systems Requirements Analysis (TSRA) development efforts. Vera has been instrumental in the continued development and management of documentation across the first four courses: Familiarization, Standard Safety and Cockpit Egress Familiarization, Auxiliary Power, and Borescope. Her attention to detail has ensured alignment between Plans of Instruction (POIs), media, and testing materials.

Her coordination across multiple documentation efforts ensured lesson content remained synchronized with aggressive project timelines while maintaining the highest standards of quality. Vera worked closely with Quality Assurance to review, finalize, and implement templates for eight Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) documents. Each of these CDRL documents representing the first time JANUS has developed deliverables of this nature. Her efforts established foundational documentation processes that will support future program success.

In addition, Vera effectively oversees a team of three Instructional Systems Designers, providing guidance, ensuring consistency across products, and maintaining steady progress toward critical milestones. Because of her management the team has been able to deliver two completed CDRL documents and finalize development of four additional CDRL documents.

Vera also supported the development of Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) Master Task Lists (MTLs) by assisting with data collection, organization, and management. She developed an expedited method to extrapolate over 3,100 tasks from the IETM, saving days of manual effort and significantly improving efficiency.

Vera's leadership, innovation, and dedication have directly contributed to program success, improved efficiency, and enhanced product quality. Vera's professionalism, initiative, and impact make her highly deserving of this Energy Award.

Congratulations, Vera, on this well-earned recognition!
