Honoring the Energy That Elevates Us: Congratulations to Michael (Mike) Brown

Some people bring skill to their work. Others bring commitment. But every so often, we have the privilege of working alongside someone who brings something even more powerful: energy that inspires, motivates, and pushes our entire organization forward. Mike Brown is a recent recipient of the JANUS Energy Award.

The Energy Award recognizes employees who consistently go above and beyond to spark progress and deliver results. Mike has done exactly that. Mike works tirelessly and diligently, never missing a scheduled deadline. His attention to detail has demonstrated time and again that he is a top-notch professional who performs his work to the highest standards.

Mike's exceptional technical expertise and resilience were pivotal in the successful development, publication, and delivery of Project Convergence 6 (PC C6) Horse Blankets (HB), deemed critical deliverables by JMC NID/G6 Leadership. His meticulous work directly enabled JMC NID/G6 network engineers and signal teams to successfully plan, design, and develop the PC C6 experimental network.

The PC C6 HBs were a massive undertaking, each one exceeding 1,000 pages, capturing accurate representations of PC C6 Forces and their MTOE'd resources, Mission Command systems, communications systems, technology insertion, and classification enclaves. Despite a myriad of challenges—including the Government shutdown, toolset instabilities, and evolving customer requirements—Mike developed work-arounds and coordinated with key stakeholders to keep development on schedule. Regarded as a Subject Matter Expert on the HB, Mike ensured absolute precision in capturing Unit Task Organization and related systems, and his guidance ensured proper Role names and Unit Identifiers were accurately depicted, enabling PdL TNIC to properly capture them during Data Product development. His unparalleled attention to detail culminated in the successful publication of four major PC C6 HBs to date, alongside numerous critical draft releases.
