Honoring the Energy That Elevates Us: Congratulations to Chris Gallego

Some people bring skill to their work. Others bring commitment. But every so often, we have the privilege of working alongside someone who brings something even more powerful: energy that inspires, motivates, and pushes our entire organization forward. Chris Gallego is a recent recipient of the JANUS Energy Award.

The Energy Award recognizes employees who consistently go above and beyond to spark progress and deliver results. Chris exemplified this by planning, coordinating, and capturing key aspects of a critical project, ensuring all deliverables were completed accurately and on schedule. His strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and thoughtful recommendations consistently reflect the highest professional standards.

As the Concept Focused Warfighting Experiment (CFWE) Horse Blanket (HB) planner, Chris was instrumental in planning, coordinating, and capturing key aspects of the three proposed CFWEs (C2/CounterC2, Cross-Domain-Fires, and Expanded Maneuver), leading to successful Horse Blanket publications for all three CFWEs on time and on schedule. CFWE HBs were deemed critical by JMC NID/G6 Leadership, providing feeder data for network planners and the stakeholder community to plan, design, and develop each CFWE's network architecture.

CFWE HB development was a massive undertaking, with each CFWE expected to employ no fewer than a hundred proposed technologies. Chris worked diligently to research and capture technical details for each proposed technology, developing Running Estimates used by the HB Team to determine proper placement and employment of proposed technologies. Despite a myriad of challenges, including the Government shutdown and massive customer-driven changes, Chris worked tirelessly, capturing every technical detail and every proposed change, leading to the successful publication and delivery of six CFWE HB versions—two for each CFWE.

Chris's reputation for excellence is well-earned, and he is deeply respected by his peers, clients, and leadership alike. His judgement and recommendations are highly respected at JMC and within the CFWE stakeholder community.
