JANUS Research Group Recognizes Pan Liang with Energy Award

JANUS Research Group (JANUS) is pleased to recognize Pan Liang, Ph.D. with an Energy Award for her groundbreaking work in the retrieval of atmospheric temperature profiles from hyperspectral microwave satellite data.

Dr. Liang, working with data from a customer's proprietary, first-of-its-kind instrument, developed a hybrid retrieval algorithm that accounts for the complex effects of Zeeman line splitting on microwave frequencies sensitive to the upper atmosphere. Her results showed an improvement in measurement precision beyond that achievable from current operational sensors.

Dr. Liang's innovative solutions and perseverance in this extraordinary achievement earned rave reviews from the client, who was extremely pleased with the results. Her work is a testament to her dedication and commitment and to JANUS' high standards for innovation and customer satisfaction.
