JANUS Team Member James Garner Celebrates 10 Years

Army Futures CIS2 Vice President James Garner is celebrating 10 years with JANUS Research Group (JANUS) in July.

James started with JANUS in July 2015 as a lead project manager after serving a distinguished career as an Army aviator flying the AH-64 Apache helicopter. His significant understanding of Army capabilities was a great asset that quickly led to James contributing to his JANUS team's success. James' ability to understand and interpret Army capability development from concept to capability has ensured continued success and made lasting contributions to JANUS, to the Army, and to the warfighter.

James is directly responsible for the award (and follow-on awards for several) of eight FCC task orders to which his team contributes. He has also made significant improvements to the management of the AFC FCC portfolio, which has positively impacted JANUS' ability to deliver above and beyond client expectations.

James cites his friend and shadow mentor, Jim Old, as one of his biggest inspirations within the company. "Jim always pointed me in the right direction," says James. "I'm deeply grateful to those who showed me the way: the leadership team of my first battalion, who taught me the foundations of leadership. And Jim, my friend and mentor. I gained the understanding that JANUS as a company has built a culture grounded in timeless principles: always do the right thing, treat others with respect and dignity, and honor our commitments."

That understanding is part of what motivates James. In his words, he is motivated by the people of JANUS. "Helping them find a home on our team, watching them grow, and winning together. That has been an endless fountain of joy."
