JANUS RESEARCH GROUP RECOGNIZES MIKE SHILEN WITH AN ENERGY AWARD

JANUS Research Group (JANUS) and the Capability, Integration and Sustainment Solutions (CIS2) team are pleased to present Mr. Michael "Mike" Shilen with an Energy Award for his knowledgeable, versatile, and proactive approach to both contingent and active recruiting.
Mr. Shilen applies traditional and innovative recruiting methods to find available and qualified candidates quickly. Thanks to Mike's recruiting expertise, he has reduced the time to fill significantly for CIS2's revenue generating positions.
In addition to 'normal' recruiting, Mike has added tremendous value in finding contingent hires (including Letters of Intent) in support of compliant proposal submissions. In every proposal kick-off meeting he attends, he asks 'on-point' questions to shape his sourcing and screening approaches. Mike has also assumed drafting of CIS2's position descriptions for 'posting'; armed solely with a Performance Work Statement (PWS) and attending the Kick-Off meeting.
Due to Mike's professionalism, he easily garners our partner's trust, and they allow him to interact via their SharePoint site. Additionally, Mike's recruiting (for contingent hires) efforts have been instrumental in informing pricing during the proposal process.
A great example is his initiative, without direction, is that he proactively started sourcing based upon the Government's Combined Arms Center Mission Command Battle Lab (CAC MCBL) Industry Day. Within hours of the completion of the virtual Industry Day, Mike had located LinkedIn profiles for several of the incumbent's team members which helps in building a pool of potential candidates. He continues to refine the position descriptions as the proposal process matures and additional information is obtained from his interviews or proposal standup meetings.
Mike is a dedicated teammate willing to complete any task to help the team win and is well deserving of this Energy Award.
