JANUS RESEARCH GROUP RECOGNIZES SCOTT HALVORSON AND CHAD HOANG WITH ENERGY AWARDS

JANUS Research Group (JANUS) is pleased to present Mr. Scott Halvorson and Mr. Chad Hoang with Energy Awards for their exceptional work on the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Mitigation Framework (MF) and Augmented Reality (AR) project.
In Scott's role as the lead 3D Artist on the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Mitigation Framework (MF) and Application (AR) project, his exceptional work was beyond the scope of his regular responsibilities. Scott's efforts researching and integrating 2D and 3D iconography as well as his roles supporting the National Alliance for Public Safety GIS (NAPSG) symbology updates have resulted in exceeding customer expectations. In addition to his WUI-MF roles, Scott has been simultaneously supporting the B-52 and AWE projects and was an essential contributor to their team's successes.
As the lead software developer on the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Mitigation Framework (MF) and Application (AR) project, Chad's exceptional work was beyond the scope of his regular responsibilities. His efforts integrating different data visualizations into a Machine Learning (ML) model created a User Interface (UI)/User Experience (UX) that has resulted in exceeding customer expectations. The outcome from his efforts will allow for future AR application development in support of other public safety organizations.
As proof of concept, the AR application both gentlemen worked on will be used for real-world fire prevention and mitigation measures for both fire departments (Public Safety Organizations) as well as home/property owners. Mr. Hoang and Mr. Halvorson's encouragement to the team, support on the Capability Maturity Model Integration-Development 3 (CMMI-DEV 3) efforts, and improvement of the User Interface (UI) and process for computer vision detection of items to mitigate, have been critical to the success of the WUI-MF development efforts.
