JANUS Research Group Attends I/ITSEC 2025

JANUS Research Group (JANUS) attended this year’s Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) December 1–4.
Held annually in Orlando, Fla., I/ITSEC is the world’s largest modeling, simulation, and training (MS&T) event. Organized by the National Training & Simulation Association (NTSA), an affiliate subsidiary of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), I/ITSEC offers the most comprehensive look at where the industry is going and what technology breakthroughs mean to modeling and simulation, training, education, analysis, and related disciplines.
This year, JANUS hosted a booth where attendees could learn more about our products and services, like our immersive, data-driven training and simulation solutions that blend AI/ML (artificial intelligence/machine learning), model-based systems engineering, and advanced analytics. These solutions meet the evolving needs of warfighters and decision-makers. I/ITSEC is the perfect venue to showcase our solutions and learn about what the government, academia, and our industry partners are doing and exploring.
The JANUS team also presented a paper titled, “Space Weather AI into Warfighter Kill Chains Toward Operational Dominance.” The research investigates how weather plays a critical commercial role in the global investment in space, especially during the current solar maximum, which heightens space environment risks. JANUS’ Atmospheric and Environmental Research (AER) business unit has a long-standing history in space weather research and development, recently integrating advanced artificial intelligence techniques in collaboration with AFRL. JANUS’ innovative approach to the AI interface engine results in solutions that enhance the resilience of satellite constellations, ensuring they can withstand the increasing risks posed by the dynamic space environment.
For JANUS’ Dr. Cordula Robinson, I/ITSEC proved to be a revelation. “Back in early 2025, when I volunteered to write a paper, I had no idea that clicking into I/ITSEC’s submission portal would be the start of something this energizing and expansive. I/ITSEC feels a bit like a professional Thanksgiving: a gathering devoted to celebrating meaningful work, exchanging ideas, and lifting each other up.” Dr. Robinson is looking forward to building on all that her first I/ITSEC experience sparked.
