JANUS Research Group Recognizes Katherine Reed with Energy Award
10/31/2025
JANUS Research Group (JANUS) is pleased to recognize Instructional Systems Designer Katherine Reed with an Energy Award.
When she started on the Maintenance and Assessment contract under Ready Relevant Learning (RRL), Katherine hit the ground running. She quickly developed an in-depth understanding of the new procedures and processes, developing an internal tracker to ensure all milestones were met. This tracker ensured products were high quality and delivered on time, and reduced rework across four rates.
Katherine was responsible for the biggest Navy rate under this Task Order, Aviation Machinist’s Mate (AD). Her expertise led to the delivery of three documents: Rate Master Task List (RMTL), Career Flow Map (CFM), and Career Domain Analysis Addendum (CDA) for the first major project milestone with high quality and on-time delivery. Additionally, her knowledge and skillset have made her a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the CLLC development process. Because of this, she has simultaneously developed her own rate, AD, while also training nine other team members developing aviation rates.
As an SME, Katherine was also asked to assist the Senior Supervisors in completely overhauling six documents: two RMTLs, two CFMs, and two CDAs for Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM) rate and Aviation Boatswain’s Mate, Equipment (ABE), within a week to ensure on-time delivery.
Katherine’s attention-to-detail, expertise, and energy have been vital to the success of this effort. She proactively asks insightful questions, quickly incorporates changes, and consistently ensures her fellow developers are on track and trained to ensure program improvement and success. Her thoughtful approach and steady execution in a dynamic and evolving environment along with her outstanding leadership make her an invaluable member of the team and a deserving recipient of this Energy Award.
