JANUS Research Group Recognizes Michael Sofinowski with Energy Award

JANUS Research Group (JANUS) is pleased to recognize Michael Sofinowski with an Energy Award for his exceptional engineering services expertise for the PdM Mission Network (PdM MN).

From October 2024 through May 2025, Michael established himself as a highly valued PdM MN teammate. He consistently provided exceptional engineering support to critical programs, including NITE, SNN, and XLDT. He worked across the TMD team on the development of the Software-Defined Network (SDN) appliance, a cornerstone capability for the Next Generation Command & Control (NGC2) transport effort. His contributions have been instrumental in shaping this critical technology by coordinating with multiple program offices across PEO C3N, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational requirements.

Michael's proactive mindset, technical acumen, and unwavering commitment to mission success have earned him a reputation as the "go-to" engineer within this program office, and his ability to anticipate challenges, drive innovation, and deliver results under pressure has accelerated project timelines and enhanced the overall effectiveness of the PdM MN portfolio. Furthermore, Michael has demonstrated exceptional mentorship and team-building skills by guiding junior engineers and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

His professionalism and dedication to excellence, as well as his commitment to mentoring the next generation of engineers, are the embodiment of the JANUS ethos.
