KISHAN SHETTY AND LIBBY PEDERSON JOIN THE I/ITSEC SERIOUS GAMES SHOWCASE AND CHALLENGE COMMITTEE

JANUS Research Group's Kishan Shetty, managing rules and rubrics, and Libby Pederson, managing website design, join the Serious Games Showcase and Challenge Committee (SGS&C) this year at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) 2023 in Orlando, FL. The conference will take place at the Orange County Convention Center and run from November 27th - December 1st.
This committee is a volunteer-driven effort, made up of a diverse group of individuals whose work is supported by their organizations and companies. The SGS&C celebrates the use of games and game technology as a delivery medium for learning and training. The Challenge welcomes industry, government, and student developers of serious games that target general audience or government specific learning needs.
After a rigorous evaluation, the top entries from all received are selected as finalists and invited to showcase their games on the exhibit floor during I/ITSEC. A second round of evaluations from worldwide industry experts determines the award winners for the following categories:
- Best General Audience Game
- Best Government Audience Game
- Innovation Award
- People's Choice Award
- Best Student Developed Game
- Best XR (VR/AR/MR) Category
Awards are presented at I/ITSEC to recognize this prestigious accomplishment PLUS an additional award is selected by all I/ITSEC attendees via ballots for the "People's Choice Award" - the serious game attendees deem the Best of Show.
