February 12, 2021 (Evans, GA) - Janus Research Group (JANUS) has awarded Cherryl Shierling, Will Costice and Phillip Jones with an Energy Award in recognition of their extraordinary performance and contributions to the JANUS team. This award is distributed to team members who go beyond the call of duty to ensure customer satisfaction and demonstrate exceptional work ethic.
Cherryl works as a Robotics Capability Developer out of Fort Benning, GA and has been with the company for 15 months. She works closely with the JANUS team supporting the United States Army Futures Command (AFC) Robotics Requirements Division. She is the capability developer for the Common Robotic System (Individual), the Army's first Program of Record for a back-packable robot providing dismounted Soldiers increased standoff capability from hazardous threats. She also provides support in developing requirement documents for other ground robotic systems that will increase capabilities and improve Soldier performance in combat environments. Cherryl has played an instrumental part in seamlessly transitioning from onsite to remote work environments with no degradation in team productivity. She is a true team player willing to share her knowledge and experience to improve team performance, which is evidenced by her willingness to take additional time to help her colleagues. Her leadership and professional conduct sets a true example for JANUS employees across the board.
Will works as a Tactical Wheeled Fleet Vehicle (TWV) Analyst out of Fort Eustis, VA and has been with the company for five years. He works in the Futures and Concepts Center covering general logistics and surface mobility material requirements; concepts and doctrine; tactics, techniques and procedures; and operational requirements. He has consistently displayed a thorough knowledge of and subject matter expertise in his area. Specifically, he has played an instrumental role on the Multi-Domain Operation (MDO) TWV project, and his management of the TWV Study calendar and flawless coordination of meetings at all levels: AO, Council of Colonels, HQDA, and Senior Leadership has established him as a trusted agent of the Sustainment Division (SD). The SD relies on Will's work to service in a wide and varied capacity and his analysis is critical to the MDO TWV Study Force.
Phil Jones works as a Fires Capability Development Analyst in the Fires Division, Futures and Concepts Center out of Fort Eustis, VA and has been with the company for five and a half years. He was hand selected to assist the government in the planning, designing and execution of the Threat Based Assessment (TBA). He sits within the operations team of this work group and is responsible for providing recommendations on approach towards formation information presentations. Phil also supported the TBA Task Analysis Workshop (TAWS) and was critical in providing administrative support and recommendations on focus and use of formation dependency information provided by Capability Development Integration Directorate (CDIDs). His recommendations made explicit statements of expected TAWS outcomes to assist in synchronizing effort and assessing progress. Phil brings great credit to the team, JANUS and the TBA effort. His accomplishments on this work are outstanding and continue to show the value and partnership with JANUS Research Group.
