07/11/2025
JANUS Research Group (JANUS) is pleased to recognize Benjamin (Ben) Baker with an Energy Award for his work as the Carrier-Advanced Reconfigurable Training System (C-ARTS) Systems Administrator.
Ben is the epitome of selfless service. Working tirelessly with the C-ARTS Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE), He was the driving factor in completing the Annual Security Review Year Three's Authority to Operate (ATO).
In just 20 days, Ben completed 1,600 scans, imaging, and inputs into the Department of Defense's Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service web application and the Plan of Action and Milestones, an effort that historically requires 32 working days. His actions allowed PEO Carriers to provide an additional 176 hours of quality training (or four PEO CVN-related courses) to 36 CVN 79 Sailors.
Ben also exhibited exceptional operational and maintenance knowledge and skill sustaining/maintaining the NAVSEA ATO for the Learning Management Systems of five C-ARTS units, located at Naval Station Norfolk and Huntington Ingalls Industries' Newport News Shipbuilding. His persistent efforts resulted in early identification and resolution of challenging issues. Ben's steadfast commitment to teamwork and customer satisfaction resulted in the C-ARTS and High Velocity Learning Environment team's ability to consistently provide quality service to all PEO Carriers and JANUS customers.
We are pleased to recognize Ben's contributions with this Energy Award.
