Army Future Concepts Center Analyst (Operations)



Fort Eustis, VA

Position Overview

Supporting Army Futures and Concepts Center, the Analyst will provide support to AFCC G-3/5/7 Operations Division for Service bilateral engagements and multi-Service actions including Service Chief Warfighter Talks.  Specific tasks include:

  • Track and coordinate issues and topics, schedule senior leader participation, and provide presentation and supporting products for Service Chief bilateral talks
  • Track and coordinate issues and topics, schedule senior leader participation, and provide presentation and supporting products to facilitate inter-service coordination and integrations
  • Review and assess strategic and operational guidance and directives and provide written summary and assessment products in support of national security
  • Review and comment on Army Functional Concept drafts; participate in writing teams; and provide concept documents, papers, and related materials required to support inclusion of JI throughout the AFC development process
  • Support the joint concept development and experimentation community with an emphasis on JI.  Review and comment on joint concept drafts; participate on writing teams; and provide concept documents, papers, and related materials required to support integration of Army JI perspective into joint concepts

Specific Skills:

  • Knowledge of Capability and Requirements development
  • Knowledge of Air Force Doctrine, current concepts, Lessons Learned
  • Experienced Facilitator, briefer and presenter of analytical results (written and/or orally) to senior leadership


  • Active SECRET Clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ year of experience with requirements development and needs analysis
  • 5+ years of documenting analytical efforts, constructing briefings and presenting results
  • 5+ years’ staff experience serving on Joint Staff, COCOM, SOCOM/CNO staff
  • Service Concept development and Capability development experience
  • COCOM/Service Component/Service HQ experience in CONPLAN/OPLAN development
  • Combat Training Center/RED Flag/Green Flag, exercise/participant/observer/staff experience.


  • Master’s Degree
  • 3+ years of experience with Joint concepts to capabilities development
  • 3+ years of experience in Service Concepts or Capabilities Development    


  • As required 10% a year
