Position Overview

JANUS is currently seeking a well-versed Instructor/Writer to provide NetApp Instruction and Training Development for functional/PME courses within the Signal School at Fort Gordon, GA.  

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Develop, maintain and update NetApp Training.
  • Instruct classes, conduct training development of NetApp lesson plans, and evaluate student performances using TRADOC-approved Instructional methodology to include 350-2 (Staff and Faculty Development Training), 350-5 (Ft Gordon Academic Practices), 350-22 (Test Control Policies and Procedures). Policies may be included in the SIGNAL SCHOOL Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Instructor shall collaborate with current government personnel to establish acceptable instructor practices and student evaluation criteria.
  • May work as part of a team, which will include military and/or civilian instructors.
  • Assist students in the development of Instructor presentation skills to include developing lesson plans, preparing training materials, and practicing presentations.
  • Ensure classroom presentation equipment and classroom furniture is in operable condition.
  • Ensure established classroom security requirements and procedures are followed IAW the unit Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Maintain student records and statistics.
  • Follow lesson plans and training schedules developed to support the current Program of Instruction (POI). As the POI or lesson plans require modification due to changing technology, requirements or critical tasks, the instructor is required to provide support with curriculum development.
  • Periodically review classroom training materials such as student handouts, lesson plans, slides, and practical exercises for accuracy and adequacy.
  • Conduct testing in subjects taught, to include grading of exams, evaluation of results, and recording of exam results and the conduct of after action reviews (AARs) with students. In some cases, instructor shall be required to update classroom curriculum. Instructor shall be required to develop new tests associated with the new curriculum.
  • Make recommendations to the COR concerning academic actions when warranted by classroom performance.
  • Be required to stand, bend and stoop for long periods of time, while delivering and assisting students with training materials.
  • Be required to conduct training indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • Be required to operate and demonstrate strategic equipment functions.

Mandatory Requirement

  • Possess Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Possess DoD 8570.01 IAT level II baseline certification requirements, currently CompTIA A+ or higher level certification.
  • Possess a current NetApp certification as NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or higher NetApp level certification.
  • Be Instructor Qualified, Foundation Instructor-Facilitator. FIFC certification must be less than five (5) years old. All personnel not properly FIFC qualified will have to successfully complete the course upon award of contract (ref: 6.10 for guidance and cost). All related cost for certification shall be the responsibility of the vendor.
  • Possess a minimum of three (3) years’ experience instructing NetApp courses and/or worked directly in the career field during three (3) of the preceding five (5) years.
  • Possess skills/knowledge of performing office automation work that includes word processing, electronic mail, spreadsheets, and other personal computer applications; typing a variety of materials from rough draft into final form including narrative and tabular material e.g. correspondence, reports, and forms; maintaining training records, historical records, survey results, reference library of training catalogs, regulations and other miscellaneous publications; establishing and maintaining office functional files and reference files; PC support skills related to installing, configuring and repairing; ability to research and
  • resolve problems using a variety of resources and tools; knowledge management applications e.g. SharePoint, Army training requirements and resources system (ATRRS), and Blackboard.
  • Possess advanced presentation speaking skills (e.g. tailoring content and delivery for different audiences, presenting confidently to large or small groups, and using more creative approaches to presenting).
  • Have a working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Spreadsheets, Outlook, Pure Edge etc.
  • Possess experience with Army-standard desktop applications and configurations e.g. daily reporting programs, Army Gold Master (AGM) configurations.
